So here’s what’s going on, I am on medication for mental problems and as I went in today to get a refill, they told me that my primary insurance was needed. I told them I only have medicaid which they had on file. They told me the only way that I would need primary without having changed it myself, is if my parents changed it. For safety reasons I cannot reach out to my parents and ask if this is the case and for them to give me my primary. I’m turning 20 in a week, and as of right now apparently have no health insurance. What can I do? Is there any way for me to be able to get my own plan even though I’m not 26? I would prefer to get medicaid because I am disables and it’s the best for me, but I don’t know what to do… I really need help.
(Ps. My Mother still claims me as a dependent even though I have not lived with her in over a year. She also is an insurance agent herself so she knows exactly what she’s doing.)
BTW I’m turning 20 in one week, I live in Caldwell and I make about 8 and hour full time, if that helps at all.
