My new PCP pulled a fast one!

I just moved to a new area and met with my new PCP for the first time. I met with the provider under the understanding that it was an annual physical, but they billed my insurance provider as a patient screening visit $441 ouch! Now when I call the provider they insist that they would never do an annual physical without a patient screening even though that was the appointment I scheduled. They refuse to change the code they charged to my insurance provider. The insurance provider says there’s nothing they can do. So now it’s “I said” vs “they said”. How is this even legal? Maybe this is trivial to some but for me this is a significant financial setback.

The worst part is the visit was very bad and pushy around supplements and hormone testing that I do not believe I even need since I’m healthy and have no major medical concerns…

Anyone else have a similar experience? What did you do and how did it go?
