Need help with deciding what Health Insurance to choose from [NY]

Hey everybody,

Right now I am in a dilemma, as I am not sure if NYS will accept me as a domestic partner for my fiancé. Her company is dragging their feet, and I need to decide what to do in the next day or two.

Option 1)

Enroll in NYS catastrophic health ins. Would cost me $180 a month. Basically covers trips to hospital, and other major items. Everything else is OOP.

Option 2)

Enroll in companies health ins, and per month cost is $400. This comes with a $5800 deductible, 50% co insurance, and max out of pocket of $7000. Can enroll in an HSA but will need to use after tax money, as the HR department sucks.

Overall I am pretty healthy and nothing major happens to me. In 2021 so far I had a cold, sinus infection, and caught covid twice because my company wants everybody in office.

Either option right now looks about the same to me as I am paying out of pocket anyway. Is there any benefit from choosing my companies health ins?

Any advice on this is appreciated.
