New health insurance plan starts next month, can I get away without paying for this month of my current plan?

My current COBRA plan has a 30 day grace period and my new health insurance plan will go into effect on the 1st of February. Would it be a problem to not pay the monthly premium for my current plan and ride into my new plan’s coverage? Or must I pay this month’s premium?
