I am recently off my parents health insurance and have my own plan (new independent plan has been in effect 5 months). I recently started therapy that I go to every other week since January, so obviously I have a lot of claims and will be expecting a dozen more through the course of the year.
When I log into my carrier website, it shows most of these claims are status: Completed and that I owe $25 per session. The EOB are uploaded and when I look at them they say they are not a bill, but they list out how much I owe. Ok cool! But I haven’t gotten any bills in the mail or see any place to pay on the website. I’m very concerned about leaving these alone for months and then having a $400 bill roll in when I could have been spreading these out. Or even worse, that I am missing something and in a couple months I become overdue and my credit score takes a hit.
Basically, is this normal? I know every insurance company is going to have different processing times, but when should I start expecting bills and due dates? My carrier is UMR and I live in IL.
