M, 23, NJ, income status does not qualify me for Medicaid
Miscommunication with my parents on staying on their health insurance when I got a new job and moved out amongst other familial issues. Have been unknowingly uninsured for way more than 60 days (so no cobra), 11/1 was the date I was allowed to enroll, was hired in October. Found this out after using old insurance card for appendix pain. Sent in the forms to employer this week and she requested a letter from previous insurer stating my last date of coverage. Will this pose an issue in getting on my employers insurance plan? If it is I definitely need to start looking at other options… if there are any at all. I read about short term plans not sure what they cover, or how quickly they kick in.
