I currently have Medicaid in New York State (zip 11228), and I recently started my first job out of college. The employer (federal government) offers FEHB and I am wondering do I need to cancel Medicaid in order to enroll in one of the plans in FEHB? I have used Medicaid for many years and have no related experience with these matter. I called NY State of Health today and they told me I can not cancel my Medicaid since I am not the account holder, probably because we had it as a family under TANF program. Most importantly, will I be in trouble if I submit my new insurance enrollment form without cancelling my Medicaid?
