NYC resident. I pay close to 2k for my own health insurance.

I live in NYC and work for myself and pay privately. Through NY state health market place. I have blue cross and blue shield silver to cover for my wife and me.

This is blue cross and blue shield.

The premiums are $1762.48 per month.

deductibles are 1300 per individual or 2600 group.

Max out of pocket is 8500 per individual or

17000 for group.

coinsurance is 30% with others being co-pay.

I’m thinking of dropping down to bronze which is

1302.26 per month for premium.

Deductibles are 6100 per individual / 12200 per group.

Max of pocket is 6900 per individual / $13800 per group.

coinsurance is 50% .

Health insurance is expensive but my income is too high qualify for any reduction. Out all my expenses paying for insurance is the highest.

I do go to the doctor . I suffer from scoliosis and tmd but you be surprise how many specialist do not participate in any insurance. This is also true for therapy. The PCP sucks. I had to change 2 times cause the PCP would never pick up if I call them.

Would like any advise. Should I just go for cheap insurance and pay cash to see doctors outside of network?
