So I received an offer from a company where I would be considered a W2 employee not a 1099 or a corporate employee and would be on an 18 mo. contract.
The company offers health insurance but they do not pay for any portion of it. The cost isn’t necessarily the problem it’s the lack of the benefits. Essentially a high deductible before a copay or coverage kicks in. Is it possible to just go purchase my own health insurance from the government marketplace or directly from an insurance company ? I tried researching and got mixed results saying I wouldn’t be able to since the company offers insurance. Primarily wanting a different healthcare option due to needing fertility treatments to where seeing a specialist won’t cost an arm and leg until a deductible is met.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
