Just had a procedure done in an in-network outpatient facility (clinic) and the anesthesiologist was apparently out of network.
I chose the facility specifically because it is in-network and the whole treatment should be covered by my plan. There was absolutely no way for me to request an in-network anesthesiologist.
Is there any kind of protection for a non-emergency situation where the patient ends up with an out-of network provider and the situation is completely out of the patient’s control? I live in the state of NY.
Thank you!
