Good Morning All,
Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide. A few months ago, I call 911 because I had an allergic reaction, had to administer an Epi-Pen and was having trouble breathing. The ambulance came and transported me to the hospital.
I received a bill from the local volunteer fire department for the balance of the ambulance that was unpaid from my insurance. The total billed was $1775.87 and my insurance would only pay the out-of-network rate which is $553.72.
Can I be charged out of network for emergency services when I didn’t have a choice of provider?
