Part time worker/student looking for options

Hello everyone,

I’m a healthy 29 y/o male in Colorado looking into what I can do for insurance this upcoming year.

I am applying to dental school this upcoming June and in order to do that I’ve needed to take on more class work and start preparing for the dental admissions test, which can be a full time job in itself. My current workplace will not let me stay on PT with benefits so I’ve had no choice but to resign. I will be starting with a temp agency in January that does not offer insurance but does match Medicaid premiums (I need to ask them more about this).

I’ve never been in this sort of situation so I’m not very certain about what to do. Do I apply for Medicaid? Do I even qualify for Medicaid as someone voluntarily working part time?

Thanks!
