Paying $500 for every doctor’s visit?

Hi all, I have high-deductible insurance through my employer.

Last year, when I first saw a doctor… I saw a dermatologist to discuss my hairloss (I work at a hospital and we have this health app. I went onto the app and requested an appointment with a dermatologist).

All we did was 5 min chat over video and she prescribed me 1 year worth of finasteride. And I got 400 dollar billed for that (since I did not meet deductible, I had to pay for that)

So this year, I thought maybe it’s pricey since I saw a dermatologist? This time I chose any family medicine / primary care doctor and again, we had 5 min chat over the phone and she gave me refills (she saw the dermatologist record from my chart)

… and today I got a fat bill for 600 bucks.

Like seriously… I can’t afford to pay 600 bucks every year for doctor’s visit. I don’t have any medical conditions so it’s impossible for me to meet that deductible of $4000-5000.

Is this normal? or what should I do?
