Hi,
TLDR: Stuck between Choice Plan and In-Network Only. Which would would you recommend based off the infomation given below?
I’m a recent college grad. I just got a new job as a Computer Scienctist for CitiBank. I’m enrolling in the health insurance that they provide. This is my first time enrolling in my own health insurance(My dad kicked me off sadly). They provide Anthem and Aetna. I’m going with Anthem as it sounds better for me and cost efficient. Within Anthem I’m stuck between picking the Choice Plan vs The In Network Plan.
Anthem BCBS Choice Plan:
$76.13 per paycheck $500 deductible Fully covered Preventive care Coverage for everything else is 80% after the deductible. $3,000 out of pocket max CVS Caremark with $100 deductible Cost Coverage is 60% afer deductible if you’re out of network 1500 deductible when out of network 6,000 max when out of network
Anthem BCBS In Network Only:
$64.13 per paycheck $250 deductible In Network Only Fully covered Preventive care Coverage for everything else is Copay ranging from 25 to 400 4,000 out of pocket max CVS Caremark with $100 deductible
As you can see they’re similar with key differences however. How often will I even make an out of network appointment? On the flip side based on what I researched, sometimes the network isn’t updated, sometimes when blood work is forwarded to a lab the lab sometimes will be an out of network lab, and sometimes stuff happens where you have to be out of network. I’m not sure how popular Anthem BCBS is nationwide. Any help will be appericiated.
