So, I had a Medi-Cal insurance card issued to me by Planned Parenthood back in 2019 and I have been using it since. Recently, I’ve lost the card (somewhere around my home, but hadn’t had the luck lately to find it). Say, I’ve totally lost the card and will never find it and in need of a replacement. Who do I need to call and get it replaced? Do I need to go through an entire reenrollment process or do I just give a call to someone and they’ll send a card immediately?
I’m assuming they’ll cancel my insurance on that card, my birth control pill costs will not be covered. Will my pharmacy (Lucky’s) just take this new card and use that one to cover my birth control costs immediately as I give them that card. Or would they straight up not give me my prescription because I don’t have the same insurance?
Apologies if this isn’t the right sub to write this on; I’ve written this on the Planned Parenthood sub as well. Also still new to this whole insurance thing (I’m 17, and know very little about this adult technicalities 🤷🏻♀) which is why I’m overwhelmed and very worried.
