I am entering a committed relationship and we both want to get std tests. I went to my pcp and got all the tests ordered, I told them I had no symptoms but just wanted to check. When I called my insurance they told me it would not be covered because they were coded as diagnostic. How can I have them billed as preventative? Seems like the nature of a preventative test is always diagnostic.
