I’m one of those folks who only goes to the doctor when he’s convinced he’s dying, so I usually shop for health insurance plans based on maximum out of pocket for if/when something goes really wrong. I’m currently on an HMO plan with BCBS, but the need to see a PCP first/before anything else is something I’m starting to view as quite an annoyance.
BCBS and UH are health insurance companies whose reputations I trust . . . but neither seem to offer any (like, zero) PPO or EPO plans in Texas.
There are a number of new health insurance companies/brands with I am not familiar as I do not routinely spend a lot of time educating myself on the latest things in health insurance. I know that I’ll need to compare/evaluate premiums and coverages and everything else plan vs plan, but can anyone recommend health insurance companies that offer PPO/EPO plans in Texas that are regarded to be some of the better ones to work with? (good customer service, cover what they say they’ll cover, etc)
I appreciate any input!
