If you tell your doctor that you have been taking illicit drugs that might have caused disease symptoms that require further tests etc. could this impact your health insurance or is the MD not even allowed to communicate any of that personal information to the insurance company? I have an employer insurance (Anthem BC), so I am also wondering if this information can make it to the employer.
