Can anyone explain to me how private (employer sponsored) health plans should be implementing the Biden administration requirement that they cover the cost of at-Home COVID tests.
I purchased 2 Binax test boxes at Walgreens. In the boxes are 2 tests each for a total of 4 tests.
I see Anthem added a submit button just for at-Home COVID tests. I following their directions. They tell you to use a dummy taxid for submission. I sent a receipt for $51.61 to be considered.
Anthem processed as OFN and only for one test:
Max they would allow: $25.58
Co-insurance: $10.23
Anthem paid to be $15.35
I argued I submitted I purchased two separate kits and they only reimbursed for a one test so they sent it back to be reprocessed. Now that they reprocessed its denied in whole. Reason: *00020 This member should submit all prescription drug claims to the prescription drug plan administrator.
Can someone explain to be how this process is suppose to work? There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there.
