I see a psychiatrist and his claims have been either rejected or significantly underpaid for the past several months (across UHC and Cigna).
I think it might be something to do with the codes that he’s using for claims?
In a recent document from UHC, I was informed that 99214 is not allowed with 90834 on the same day. A little odd, because in the appeal, the codes my provider gave me were 99215 and 90836.
Is there something missing from these codes? I’ve been trying to figure out what codes he’s supposed to be using.
A recent EOB from Cigna stated `THIS SERVICE IS NOT ALLOWED BECAUSE IT IS PART OF A CMS NCCI COLUMN 1/COLUMN 2 EDIT`.
I’d really appreciate any input/advice anyone has about this. Thank you so much!
