I recently submitted a claim to my private insurance provider for about 20 therapy sessions, between January 2020 and August 2020. This isn’t my first time – my insurance provider usually reimburses me promptly as mental health is fully covered as part of my insurance package. My therapist is helping me deal with anxiety and mild depression.
This time, my insurance provider is requesting: “medical records from your treating physician including office notes, procedure reports and treatment plan”.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I see a Psychologist in a private clinic, in a third world country, that doesn’t develop such medical records… Also, isn’t this a violation of privacy?
TLDR: My private insurance provider doesn’t want to reimburse my therapy sessions without seeing my medical records. I live in a third world country and my therapist doesn’t develop any medical records. How should I proceed?
