Hello- backstory: my boyfriend had an emergency appendectomy last month and we just want to make sure the bill he received is the lowest it’ll get.
Deductible is $1,850
OOP Max is $3,500
Claim Cost Breakdown
Billed by provider: $26,962.10
Plan discount: -$20,870.89
Allowed by plan: $6,091.21
Plan paid: -$3,392.97
What you pay: $2,698.24
I know paying $2,698 is okay compared to what the charges are but I guess I was expecting it to be fully paid for by the insurance company or at least a little more than what was paid. For anyone who has experience with this, does this seem like a reasonable amount to pay or is there something we can do to get it lowered any more? Thank you in advance!!
