Can someone tell me if coinsurance has to be paid at the time of visit? I don’t have a copay and I’ve already met my deductible, however a chiropractor that I recently went to does all billing the day of service. My coinsurance amount wasn’t that much do I just paid it there and left. Two days later I got the statement from my insurance company and they listed the bill as 4% less than what the clinic charged me. Is it normal to pay for coinsurance at the time of service when you don’t have a copay? No other healthcare provider I have ever went to has billed me at the time time of service unless it was a visit to the emergency room (ERs do have a copay on my insurance)
