I live in California. I am 28, I live with my family (I file my own taxes and am not a dependent) and I am unemployed.
My parents and sister tell me that because I am ‘on my own’, and that I’m single and file my own taxes, that my Household is considered 1 (me).
My question is, even though my household is 1, do I need to tell Medi-cal that I’m living with my family? When I did speak to a representative she had asked me if I was receiving financial assistance and I told her that I was living off of my savings, but that I was living at home with my family and she didn’t really respond to it.
I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing and not making any mistakes.
