**Background: I was the Manager of a hotel that was closed for an entire year due to low occupancy/covid. In March I was promoted to GM and tasked with hiring a minimal staff of about 10ppl and reopening the hotel within a 20 day window. This proved to be nearly impossible and we ended up with large gaps of coverage for the front desk which I had to cover. I was stuck manning a hotel for over 80hrs in one week and no less than 60hrs per week for the next month.
This whole experience gave me tons of mental and physical stress and I feel like I’ve had a full mental breakdown that I am slowly learning to deal with. Physically speaking, I was throwing up everyday with terrible stomach pains. I was also not eating and lost most of my muscle mass.
My last day of work was 6/23 which means my insurance was only good until 7/1. I’ve been able to decompress this last week but my stomach issues are still not going away. I feel a burning pain around my stomach regularly and I’m always feeling bloated even though I’m not eating anything close to the amounts I usually would. I’m also having acid reflux constantly.
I guess my question is, should I go through Cobra to extend my insurance or hope to qualify for Oregon Health Plan?
I feel like this issue with my body should not be ignored much longer. I would hate for this to be something more serious than an ulcer and for me to put it off until my next job’s insurance kicks in.
Any help or advice is much appreciated!
Thank you!
