So, of course, I’ve recently turned 26 and had to get my own health insurance, and only now have I realized how screwed up the health industry is in the US. So, you’re telling me I have to pay $744 a year plus the hundreds more for medical visits, prescriptions, etc.? The fact that there are so many bootlickers that have been roped in to believe that it’s better to pay hospitals and insurance companies every year for zero service (unless you’re really out of shape or really unhealthy) as opposed to the healthcare system in basically every other western nation is unbelievable.
Screw this $3000 deductible and the very concept of a deductible. Until I have an operation that costs more than $3000, I’m throwing money away for nothing. And people are going to reply saying “yeah, but it’s just ‘insurance’ to make sure you’re covered when something catastrophic does happen, thinking that’s some kind of gotcha, but only making themselves look even more foolish in the process.
