My girlfriend recently relapsed (alcohol) and ended up in the hospital for a week. When she got out they referred her to an inpatient rehab program, it’s been a hell of a process the last couple weeks with lots of phone tag but today she finally got ahold of a lady at the rehab center. She was told that since she’s been sober for about a month now that Medicare will likely deny her for the inpatient program. She’s been banking on this treatment and was very excited to get in and get her life together, so we’re rather confused about this, it feels like they’re essentially telling her to go drink again if she wants to get help. Is there any way to talk to the medicare people and appeal this or are we just screwed if she gets denied?
