I won’t have Kaiser insurance through my workplace until open enrollment but just found out wife is pregnant. Wanting to stick with a Kaiser doctor, I called the medical center and apparently they can’t do routine prenatal care without a member ID — they can only do same day appointments, if available, with any available practitioner. We do not have a family doctor in CO.
I am not low income so won’t qualify for any low income programs… willing to pay out of pocket for ROUTINE prenatal care but have no idea how or where to get started. I thought it’d be as easy as finding a doctor and registering with them but apparently it’s not how it works?
How and where can I get my wife proper prenatal care? Or am I screwed and should just look for health insurance in the open marketplace until I can get it from work?
Please advise.
