Same 2 Procedures, 2 Different Bills

Hi, I had a question regarding my health insurance EOB. So my wife went to the hospital on two different occasions for the same ultrasound procedure. When we received the EOBs for the two visits, the amount owed by us were drastically different. The first EOB showed total cost of the visit to be $900 with a $200 insurance discount leaving us with a bill of $700. The second EOB showed total cost of the visit to be again $900 but this time with a $800 insurance discount leaving us a bill of $100. We’re really confused why the amount we have to pay is so different for the two visits even though it was at the same hospital for the same procedure. The only difference was the doctor who performed the ultrasound. When I called the insurance company they said that the providers were different and they have different negotiated rates. I don’t know if that makes sense to me because shouldn’t the provider technically be the hospital and not the doctor? Is this worth fighting over? Is there something that the hospital can do on their end to fix this? Thanks!
