Short-term health insurance for a family moving to the U.S.

Our family is moving to the U.S. this week. We’re a mixture of American citizens and green card visa holders.

Our daughter is an infant who had some complications when she was born. We’ve looked into applying her for CHIP, but we don’t have time to go through the process to apply while we’re preparing for our move.

Where is the best place to look for a short-term health insurance plan to buy us a month or two while we figure out what the best long-term insurance plan is?

We’ve looked on ehealthinsurance.com, and the plans look decent. They’re mainly <$500/month, 20-30% coinsurance, out of pocket per person is between $6,000-$11,000.

The only medical-related plan we have is for our daughter to get a check-up when we arrive. In theory, this can wait until we have insurance, but ideally, we’d like to do this asap.
