I have been living outside of the US for 5 years, between Australia and Argentina. I plan to return to the states soon and will be needing health insurance for the first time since being 26. I’ve looked into healthcare.gov and the cheapest quote I’ve seen is $320/month with $8,000 deductible. I’ve researched a bit online and have found sites for “short term medical insurance” basically less expensive coverage of less than 12 months. Is this a real thing or what other temporary options do I have until I find work? I really don’t understand this country…
