SSDI waiting for medicare. ACA medicaid conflict

I’m transitioning from SSI (which automatically qualifies me for medicaid) to SSDI survivor’s benefits. I originally thought I’d go right onto medicare because my parent passed 4 years ago, but it looks like they set my entitlement date to August 2020 for some reason (this wasn’t even the month I applied)

I’m inheriting money and will be over asset limits for ABD medicaid. And I won’t yet be eligible for medicare for another 2 years. But my income will be under 138% fpl.

I’m trying to figure out how to bypass the automatic medicaid placement so I can buy a plan on the marketplace.

No one (medicaid/marketplace) seems to know what will happen when I get my inheritance.

Medicaid will reject me if I refuse to do an asset spenddown (I don’t want to do this!). I’m afraid that the marketplace will still try to force me onto medicaid for low income adults/ohio medicaid extension. But I apparently don’t qualify for medicaid extension because I am categorically needy so I have to be on ABD medicaid or nothing??

I’ve been told you cannot be qualified/eligible for medicaid and purchase an ACA plan in Ohio. So I can’t just take myself off medicaid and purchase a plan instead.

This is a mess, any ideas appreciated. Though my own State seems confused by this matter too.

Thanks

Edit, this is for ohio 43211 and I’m in my 30s
