Starting New Jobs Soon – Which Plan to Choose?

My wife and I are starting new jobs soon and both are being offered health insurance through our employers. We’re having trouble figuring out which plan to go with. Both positions are remote and we currently live in Nevada but will likely be moving to Idaho next year. The plans are similar but we’re having trouble which is better. The deductible is significantly lower on the Blue Shield Plan which makes me think that might be the better choice, but any help would be appreciated.

Plan 1: Cigna Open Access Plan – PPO – $261/mo

Deductible: $1000 Individual / $2000 Family

Out of Pocket Max: $3000 Individual / $6000 Family

$25 doctor visit/ $50 specialist

10/25/50 Prescription coverage

ER Visit 300

Plan 2: Blue Shield of California Gold 80 PPO 250/25 – $241/mo

Deductible: $250 Individual / $500 Family

Out of Pocket Max: $7800/$15600

$25 doctor visit / $50 specialist

15/50/80 Prescription Coverage

ER Visit $250
