Hi, I’m in a bit of a rut here as it seems my therapist has continuously billed me under one of his other companies that is NOT covered by my insurance. I had it on email from my therapist that my insurance was covered by his services (besides a $20 copay which I pay every time I visit). Now looking back, his billing contains some errors etc but are all being billed by the other company. I raised an appeal but they rejected the claim stating that while it is not covered under his one company, it is covered by the another (which I believed was where he was originally billing from).
My therapist does not seem to be concerned or has raised any awareness that I have not paid these bills in the thousands and it’s been months and not sent to collection. Also have not received anything flagging me via email or by mail. It’s just reviewing the billing statements.
Is there any chance to resolve this? It’s concerning and I feel foolish for not having reviewed the billing.
Please help, I work at a hospital as an admin and this was my first time as a young adult using insurance for therapy….thank you!
