I’m in TX with a health insurance company that doesn’t serve a state I’m visiting for three weeks. I can’t change plans, I can’t even use teledoc (because teledoc assigns doctors from the state you’re in, not yours therefore no coverage), and my only safety net is the emergency room and even then I’m at their mercy to treat a situation as an emergency or get charged full rates. The only non-emergency thing I can do is call my primary (who I haven’t met yet) with crappy 9-5 hours via phone while away.
I have searched for hours looking for a company that offers IN STATE travel insurance and either I’m not using the correct terms (like domestic) or it plain doesn’t exist which is completely stupid.
Does such a thing exist?
