Tips for an employer to find & select nationwide coverage for 10-20 person company

We recently had our company’s rate go up 43-47% for all plans. We’re looking to find alternatives while we try to negotiate, with full willingness to switch. We have employees in several states, coast to coast.

does anyone have tips or strategies for finding what providers or PEOs are out there? any insight into how a plan makes that big of a jump compared with the national average (5.4% yearly) any questions to ask, to ‘audit’ the quality of the offering? any question to ask internally about our company (prep our info for these conversation)?
