General question about transitioning insurances.
I get infusions every 8 weeks for an autoimmune disease. When I transitioned from my parent’s insurance to my university’s there was a lapse in my care as my new insurance was being a pain in authorizing my care.
I am able to enroll in a continuation plan with my university health insurance for 90 days as I transition to a new job/insurance, but for future reference what are my options if I transition to a new job?
Are there any precautions I can take for transitioning to a new health care insurances in the future, so there is no lapses in my care? Do most plans have a “Continuation Plan” or a grace period to transition?
