So I have been seeing a dentist for help with facial pain that has afflicted me for several years. I want to try and file with medical insurance (Anthem) because I think it will fare better than my dental insurance given the circumstances.
I am being charged a flat rate of $4500 for the appliances the dentist has made and the work to come. He has provided me with codes insurance might ask for and has offered to write a narrative as well if it helps.
Separately, he is now sending me to a physical therapist who does not work with insurance companies and charges a flat $150 per visit. He offered to give me a superbill to present to insurance but is not being very helpful otherwise. I estimate I will have to pay $600-$900 depending on how many visits he prescribes.
Any advice on how to best get insurance to help me out? I am a college student who is struggling financially (shocker) and want to try and get this work done while I’m still on my mom’s insurance plan as I am not sure what kind of coverage I will have after the next few years. This pain has been affecting my daily life for years and I want to do anything I can to get the care I need, but my financial options are very limited.
I can offer more details for the questions asked. Thank you in advance.
