Hi everyone, so I’m turning 26 on April 30th. I’m currently employed but have parents who have excellent coverage and kept me on these past few years. Last November when we had open enrollment, I spoke on the phone with my HR and they told me I could stay on my parents insurance through this month and that they’d email me with the rate sheet etc. when the special enrollment period started. I never received the rate sheet and it slipped off my radar. I realized today that I needed to reach to out to figure this out. In hindsight I obviously should have been more proactive and read up on all this/pinged them back in March. That said I talked to them today and got my rate sheet back an will send them back the paperwork tomorrow morning. I know I messed up here, but after talking to HR I realized my question is what happens now? I’m assuming it’s too late so am I uninsured for the month of May? I had a hard time finding resources on this for employed people. Do you have any advice on next steps/what I should do about that potential gap in coverage? Thanks!
