My husband lost his job last month. Started a new job week later. Our new insurance doesn’t start until April 1st. Our COBRA cost was astronomical so we didn’t apply for it right away but we still have time if we need it. I haven’t used cobra before. Our 3 year old is sick and needs to go in ASAP. Can I take her to the dr and retroactively apply for our cobra? Will they cover it that way or does she need to be enrolled before the dr appt? Would it be cheaper to go without insurance?
