I have been laid off end of this year and applied to the marketplace. With my details, I was lucky to get a 430+$ tax credit so I was paying around $70/month. Great!
At this time, I could afford to pay part of it as I got a small package from the company and was receiving my gigantic $950 monthly unemployment benefits.
I recently had to apply for 2022 but did not get the tax credit as I am still unemployed (my job is very specific so kind of hard to find open positions). I know I will find a job in the coming months, but right now, the result is I can’t afford to pay for the health insurance (around 500$ without dental… it is about $500 above my budget ahah).
What is wrong with the system. When I have a bit of money they are ok to pay the insurance for me, but when I am totally broke they just bail on me.
At this point, what are my best options?

Ps: As you can imagine, I am a foreign person who doesn’t know much about the US Health insurance system
