What can I do if In-Network Providers refuse to accept insurance plan?

I recently transitioned from a COBRA plan to a plan purchased through the exchange. The plan I purchased indicated that my doctors – including several specialists overseeing treatment for a disabling health condition – were in-network providers. However, now that I have received my enrollment documents and card, and contacted my doctors’ offices to update my insurance information, they are telling me that they don’t accept my insurance plan. I’ve checked with the insurance company, and they are contracted providers, but I don’t know what I can do if they just refuse to accept the plan. Does anyone have any helpful advice?
