Im 21 and I live in SC, I keep getting sick but have to endure it because I don’t have health insurance (live with single mom but she hasn’t put me on her insurance for years and no longer can’t). I tried applying for Medicaid but they said I didn’t qualify.
I’ve been trying to find a steady job and am planning on going to college again soon but I have no money and am afraid of the pains and sicknesses I keep getting. I spent almost 100$ just for a doctor visit and at most they told me to just wait out my pains and sicknesses. I don’t know if I can afford to get checked deeper and I’m lowkey scared. Honestly I’m just trying to figure out my options here since even if I did work (which I’m strongly considering) it would be part time and don’t most jobs only give health coverage for full time employees? I’m not sure, I’m just lost and am hoping if someone knows what I should do since no one in my family wants to help me.
I don’t mean to rant but TL;DR: I am getting sick constantly and I’m afraid it’s getting worse and I don’t have any health insurance to help me get better. Should I just hope a job will give me some coverage or what? I don’t know anything about health insurance and am trying to read various articles about it
