What exactly is a subsidized health insurance plan?

Hey there!

This is all brand new to me. I am trying to figure out health insurance costs for a friend. She makes $47,500/year and has three kids.

I went to eHealth, and entered her information and her kids information and her wage. It says she “may save up to $415 on your premiums”, and also that she qualifies for a “Cost Sharing Reduction” in silver plans. Also, at the bottom of the screen, it says something about automatically removing the children from the plan and enrolling them in Medicaid ??

When I proceed forward, there are multiple plans with good rates.

What I can’t tell is if these are plans just for her, and it’s stripped out her children and is trying to send them to medicaid, or if these are “subsidized family plans.”
