I am wondering if anyone else has has extreme difficulties with Cigna Dental, particularly relating to being told a provider was in-network and then Cigna processing claims as out of network.
I have met with a class action attorney and we believe there is enough interest to move this forward. It appears to us that Cigna does not actually have any contracts with providers for their basic DPPO plan. They are telling consumers providers are in-network if the provider has any other contract with Cigna and that they will be processed as in-network regardless of having a specific contract for the DPPO, but then are refusing to process as in-network once the claim is filed and citing that the provider does not have a contract for this specific plan as the reason.
Anyway, was just curious to hear if anyone else shared this same horrible experience.
