Will BS of CA cover my old knee injury?

I tore my knee up pretty badly playing soccer in 2016 and never got it looked at because I was severely underinsured and a full time student without money. Knee has been very unstable and in varying levels of pain ever since (I had a torn ACL repaired in 2005 and believe I did something similar to my other knee now).

Currently I have a Blue Shield of California PPO and Short term disability insurance that would cover what I need it to.

My question is: Since I have no record of this knee injury (different knee than was injured before) can I have my insurance cover the expenses to repair my knee (initial visit, MRI, surgery etc.)? The injury happened before I was with my current insurance (private insurance I now have through my work, not obamacare). Will it be called a preexisting condition and not be covered? Will short term disability also deny my claim for time off of work? Should I lie to the Dr. About when the injury occurred (it’s been re-injured multiple times)? Do I have to just live the rest of my life without a stable knee?

I would love any informed help. Thank you!
