Wisconsin Medicaid in Connecticut

Hi folks, apologies if this question/situation has been addressed before in this sub. Thanks in advance for your help with this.

My mother is insured through Wisconsin’s Medicaid program (Badgercare), but she’s in Connecticut for at least a few months taking care of my grandfather. She just had a medical issue and went to an urgent care clinic, and was told that the organization didn’t take out of state Medicaid insurance (and the implication was that no clinic in CT would). Fortunately she was able to do a lower-cost virtual visit instead, and the med that she was prescribed was a generic and cheap. However, she is pretty concerned that no clinic in CT will take her insurance, and is wondering if she needs to find different coverage.

Should we assume that Badgercare is useless in CT? If not, where could we check what her benefits would be out of state (i.e. on Badgercare’s website or individual CT orgs to see if they take out of state Medicaid)? If it is, are there any short-term plans she could enroll in while she’s out there?
