i had a nuss procedure done a few years ago to fix my indented chest but it was screwed up and moved the dent over to one side, making my ribcage look lopsided. its always been noticeable but lately it looks and feels deeper and i fear it could be turning into a recurrence.
ive been looking into getting it revised by a surgeon who actually knows what they’re doing and the most promising one i’ve found operates out of mayo clinic arizona. there aren’t many people in my area who perform this procedure period, let alone anyone with her level of experience correcting the results of it and it’s also important to me to have this done by a fellow female, which limits my options even further.
her website says she accepts bcbs blue card ppo and i’m wondering if that would cover a potential revision procedure and/or the consultation appointments and tests. what worries me about that is the fact that what i’m experiencing is not immediately life threatening (although it does cause weird chest pains, a general feeling of frailness and i’m pretty sure reduced lung capacity from the way the extra cartilage dips into my right lung). it’s very uncomfortable though and i will be super bummed if i have to go to anyone else.
