Earwax Removal

Anyone have earwax removal through their insurance plan? I have United Healthcare Choice Plus and after not being able to hear for one week out of my left ear, I went to the ENT to see what was wrong, expecting a specialist copay. Turns out I had very heavy impacted earwax cutting off my hearing in one ear, and the Dr. removed it using a metal tool.

Based on what I see online, if earwax removal is medically necessary, it can be fully covered. Yet UHC tells me it’s considered a minor surgery and is charging me $150… do I have room to push back on this?
