I’m in California and am currently under my parent’s private insurance because I’m 25. I applied for Medi-Cal because the same month I deliver is the last month I’ll be covered by their insurance due to turning 26. I want to use Medi-cal for my labor and delivery hospital stay because I know it will be a lot cheaper than using my private insurance. The OB doctor I want to see isn’t in-network with Medi-cal. Do I have use a Medi-cal OB doctor, or can I use my private insurance for in office OB visits and Medi-cal for my hospital stay?
